Follow the same instructions for reverse appliqué (pg. 95 of \u003cem\u003eAlabama Studio Sewing + Design\u003c\/em\u003e), with a few tips and adjustments.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e- Make sure the scrap piece is large enough to cover the back of the area to be appliquéd. \u003cbr\u003e- Press fabric scraps, if needed, and pin securely in place behind the top layer.\u003cbr\u003e- After stitching around a shape and knotting off, trim away the backing fabric to leave a 1\/4“ border. We recommend trimming immediately after finishing each shape, rather than waiting until all are complete.
